A 4-star boutique hotel on the Basque Coast

Our hotel, a nod to Basque history

A dose of whimsy, a playful tone all its own. Le Garage brings together 27 rooms and suites on the Basque coast, each one a considered balance of the raw and the refined. Designers Agnès Guiot and Pauline Minsé drew on the building's history as a garage and aero club, threading industrial details through the interiors: concrete, terrazzo, unfinished wood and steel, softened by woven fabrics, retro fittings and the bold colours of the ocean outside. Deep blues and sea greens echo the nearby sea, warmed by terracotta and pink. Arches nod the building's iconic facade throughout. A pool, a terrace and the easy flow between indoors and out keep the mood relaxed. The Basque coast is at your fingertips.

The tale of a a hotel steeped in Basque history

A name that carries history. A century ago, Le Garage sheltered Rolls Royces belonging to guests of the prestigious Regina Hotel, before becoming an aero club, a mechanic's workshop and finally as its current iteration as a boutique hotel. The walls, so close to the ocean, have absorbed its lasting memories.

A treasure of the Basque country

A gem on the south west coast of France, overlooking the beauty of the Atlantic ocean, its crashing waves offering a gentle soundtrack. On the cliffs overlooking the bay, Le Garage stands proudly. A building erected a century ago, a place where each chapter has told a different story, from its days as a classic car garage and aeronautic club, to now, a boutique hotel. Just outside our doors, the towering lighthouse, a beacon of safety towers over the coastline. A short walk unveils the city centre, bustling with activity, a place to discover Basque cuisine and revel in the architecture. And just outside our doors, days spent surfing and on the golf course beckon.

LOCATIONS

A journey that started in Paris, in the summer of 2007. A bar on a quiet street, the start of Paris’ cocktail renaissance.
